About the platform

The early-warning layer farm businesses have been running in their heads

AgriRisk watches a farm's own exposure continuously and translates it into pounds and weeks — so risk is seen while there is still room to respond.

The problem it solves

UK farm businesses are carrying more volatility at once than at any point in recent memory: output prices, input costs, sterling, weather and a subsidy regime mid-transition. The tooling did not keep pace. Accounting software records what happened. Market services report the sector. Neither tells a specific farm what its own exposure is this month.

So the work falls to the farmer, in the evening, across four browser tabs and a spreadsheet, competing with everything else a working farm demands. Risks are usually spotted — but late, once the room to respond has narrowed and the cheap options have gone.

AgriRisk closes that gap. It holds a live picture of the farm's exposures, projects the cash position twelve weeks out, flags the weeks that go short before they arrive, and scores the whole position daily so a change of direction is obvious rather than inferred.

How we build it

Pounds, not percentages

A 12% move in a commodity index tells a farmer nothing actionable. What it costs this farm, this quarter, does. Every exposure is expressed against the business it affects.

Forward-looking, not retrospective

Farm accounting is very good at telling you what already happened. AgriRisk only works the window where a decision can still change the outcome.

Support the decision, never take it

You know your ground, your contracts and your appetite for risk. The platform's job is to make sure you are not surprised, not to tell you what to do.

Say clearly when we do not know

Stale data is worse than absent data. Where a feed is down or an estimate is soft, the interface says so rather than presenting a confident number.

What it deliberately is not

  • Not accounting software — it does not do your books, your VAT or your year end.
  • Not a market data terminal — it reads signal, it does not sell price feeds.
  • Not a broker or an insurer — it never places, quotes or recommends a product.
  • Not a regulated advice service — it holds the perimeter and signposts across it.

AgriRisk is decision-support, not financial or insurance advice. Every output uses possible action to consider language. Where questions cross the regulated advice perimeter, we signpost to qualified advisers.

The company

AgriRisk is built and operated by AgriRisk Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. Farm data stays owned by the farm, is never sold, and is exportable at any point — the commitments are set out in the privacy notice and the terms of service.
